I don't know offhand. I've seen instructions that indicate to use make_atsc_chanconf.pl, and when I tried it, it didn't work. So I made it work :) If the use of make_atsc_chanconf.pl is obsolete, then there are some howtos that need to be rewritten. If 'scan' looks at the air to get a channel listing (just guessing), it would only get currently-available channels with strong signals. make_atsc_chanconf.pl creates a list of all the channels you _should_ be able to get, making it a tool to facilitate antenna tweaking for tuning in channels with weak signals. > Anyway, I would have committed the patch, but unfortunately it was > wrapped due you didn't send it as attachment and thus rejected.
