Thanks. I'm getting much closer, I think.

Makelinks went fine. Ran xconfig but didn't change anything, just checked that the options for Nebula, mt352, bt878 were all ticked.

Finally, building the new kernel. I've been following the instructions on fedoraforums.org, which advised running "time make rpm". This exited after a while with...

drivers/media/common/saa7146_video.c: In function `saa7146_video_do_ioctl':
drivers/media/common/saa7146_video.c:892: error: structure has no member named `slot_name'
make[5]: *** [drivers/media/common/saa7146_video.o] Error 1
make[4]: *** [drivers/media/common] Error 2
make[3]: *** [drivers/media] Error 2
make[2]: *** [drivers] Error 2
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.41758 (%build)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.41758 (%build)
make[1]: *** [rpm] Error 1
make: *** [rpm] Error 2

What now?
