Sure, I'll have a go with a Windows machine when I can. As far as documentation for the USB command protocol goes: on their website, they do offer a "Windows SDK", which seems to be C++ source for the Windows drivers (to my inexperienced-in-Windows eyes.) The licence prohibits commercial use without written consent from Nebula, so as it stands it's not compatible with the GPL. But given Nebula's seemingly helpful attitude, they might give permission to use it as a reference with which to develop a Linux driver in C. I assume compilable, usable source code is vastly superior to incomplete and complex protocol docs! :-) I'd be happy to write to them to ask for their thoughts on doing that if you'd like.
