i am seeing the linux-next release and you are seeing the torvald's
tree, so there will be large commits we will be missing between the
trees.

in the git.kernel.org you will find linux-next repo
here's how i do to get linux-next

git remote add next
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/next/linux-next.git

git remote update
here i will get the tags that everyday next releases.

i checkout to a tag using
git checkout next-20121127

otherthan the remote add the below two steps i do everytime to update
to the next releases.
