you might be correct, I am not quite familiar with git and the branches.
what I have done is:
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git
git pull
git log -p drivers/staging/telephony/ixj.c
if possible:
would you tell me: why they are mismatch ?
and it will be better if provide additional reference link for kernel branches,
or I need read carefully again, about http://git.kernel.org/ ?
