Btw in case you have just come back from a two-week holiday on a
desert island, the host for the kernel devs' collection of git kernel
trees - kernel.org - is down just now, again due to an attack
(contrary to appearances this is not a typical state of affairs for
the Linux community. Seriously. ;-)
So if you are trying to download a kernel tree and you get a message similar to

git.kernel.org[0: 92.242.132.15]: errno=Connection timed out
fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection timed out)

after doing a 'git pull' it's not you, it's the server.
Hopefully normal service will be resumed as soon as it's up and
running again :-/

Cheers
Julie
