That's what I do, too. I could never do make pdfdocs/psdocs until suddenly,
after some upgrades to some packages (unintentionally, happened through
dependendcies of completely different things), it worked for some time.
Now I had more upgrades (also unintentionally), and it doesn't work anymore.

Me, too ;-) If anyone out there can give any hints about the exact
prerequisites, please let us know. Wolfram, what are you using? You said
Lenny, but did you need any configuration changes?
