Gxtuner use a lower priory then jack, to avoid conflicts with really real-time apps. So, if you use jack with a to low rt-priory, gxtuner wouldn't work, because the pitch tracker thread won't finish before the deadline.

Gxtuner work well for stringed instruments.

However, wouldn't comment on the rest of the thread.
