This is actually the reason I started writing the OpenAV ArtyFX [1] suite of plugins:
a consistency and a quality that when you load a plugin you know how it will work,
both in signal processing and in the user-interface to control it.

There are some important daily plugins missing (a compressor and limiter come to mind),
but fear not, they're in development at the moment.

If you (the linux-audio-user) desire any specific plugin that doesn't yet exist (for linux audio),
email me and we can discuss it's creation.
