I use vanilla kernels with rt patch and consider to downgrade to a
version around 3.1 or 3.2.

On Arch I build with "MAKEFLAGS="-j2"" and on Debian based distros using
"export CONCURRENCY_LEVEL=2" on an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with an AMD Athlon
dual-core 2.1 GHz, BE-2350 and 4 GiB RAM.
