Some of the devices in their support list have librarian-only support (you can't edit patches). From what I've gathered, you have to send a patch bank to the device (so it has the same patches in it as what you're looking at in JSynthLib), and then pick the patch you want to edit, and right-click. The JSynthLib project has never gained much momentum -- everyone agrees a free Java-based sysex editor/librarian would be a good idea, but no Java programmers ever want to work on it. So it's never been very well developed.
It's my first trial on the quick, I just want to take a look now, so excepted of the DX7's MIDI out, non of the synth is connected to the PC's MIDI interfaces, IOW I didn't test "Auto-Scan" yet. Is this needed to get access to the editors? If so, I need to continue later :(.
The auto-scan never worked well for me; it's better to add your devices by hand.
Is there an archive with other devices, that aren't available by a default JSynthLib-0.20.0.jar?
I don't know about other devices, but I think there is a CVS version around somewhere. They don't release very often.
