OK.  The 'routing Pulse Audio via Jack' could be interesting as it could seem to preserve all PA capabilities.  Unfortunately the link in 'how do I route audio...' shows an empty page.  Other approaches such as Alsa loopback on flash plugin seems to be more involved.  The 'how use Pulse Audio and Jack' option 3 leads to a wiki page with a Server Internal Error.
