Right now I see that I've got a CD player with a knob called "HI-LITE
SCAN", IIRC it does something similar. I haven't used it since years,
since I know what recordings I own and I still prefer vinyl, however, I
did a short test and it plays each song of a CD from 1 minute to 1
minute and 10 seconds. Anyway, such features are not needed, but IMO
repeat a track or a playlist and random play are useful.
