Yes. Just imagine a reverb of 2 seconds (RT60), and a 10 seconds
long logarithmic sweep, that's about 1 second per octave. So
when the sweep is at 2 kHz, the room response for 1k kHz is
already 30 dB down. Any perceptual coding is going to remove
that, or make nonsense of it.
