Hi,

Does a SSD drive need a special filesystem and/ or mount options?

I use a SSD in my laptop with both ext3 and ext4, and additional mount options: noatime, nodiratime. This is not absolutely necessary, but it reduces the number of write cycles.

It is also wise to discourage swapping, and if you are using a journalling system (such as ext3, ext4) _and_ everything is stable, you can increase the commit interval.

(look for "Economise the SSD")

The SSD will work fine without any of this, but it may work longer if you add some extra options.
