I see the problem. Your midish is too old, better install from source it's
the usual way, get it from:
http://www.caoua.org/midish
Sorry for that, I should have noted, that some of the commands are newer.
and you should use rmidish instead of midish directly. rmidish is the shell
interface to the midish engine.
Oh and I think the easiest way for you is to copy midishrc to ~/.midishrc.
