How about a PCIe to PCI converter?  They do exist, though they don't
seem all that widespread and they obviously depend on your PC form
factor and restrict the size of card you can use -- never actually
tried one myself.

The Mia MIDI was a terrific card by all accounts and I know it worked
very well with Linux. A pity to lose it.
