Indeed such stories are funny, but what is more funny - *some* of them have 
hardware background - some cards are not "44K1-compatible" (with some kind of 
*dirty* resampling on the fly to, say, 48K before DAC-ing), and (say, with 
SRC) resampled audio files can sound better, having more "direct" way to a 
DAC.
