I have not tested it, but maybe it will be possible to install programs where
speed is not an issue on a USB-stick? ..or is it the RAM that might be the
problem?

The nice thing about the latest Impro-Visor (4.07) it has musicxml export. So converting to Lilypond should be more easy now.
