Or, if you have a set of HRTF corresponding to some Ambisonic speaker
setup, AmbDec + jconv. I've been trying this, it sort of works but it
doesn't convince me. That's probably just due to my ears+brain - I have
never heard a single binaural system without head motion tracking that
works for me. OTOH those with head tracking do work for me, e.g. the
one I heard at T-Labs during the Berlin LAC was superb.
