Hi Ken!
   Which version of ecasound do you use? The syntax you gvae sounds a little 
strange to me. In the old days I always used:
ecasound -i jack_auto,client -o output.wav
   Today I'd use:
ecasound -i jack_multi,client:port1 -o output.wav
   (additional ports can easily be added, by typing comma "," and adding 
another full port name of a remote client.)
