Well, it's not an obvious issue... But very simple to solve. It's a
bug in alsa 1.0.15 which is what's included in kernel 2.6.24.
Deactivate the kernel ALSA drivers, upgrade to ALSA 1.0.16, and use
the 1.0.16 drivers.
