As a (French) sound engineer myself, I can say that a sound engineercannot be trained on every specific equipment out there but *must* knowthe generic principles behind these (How to use a mic/a mixing desk beit analog or digital/an hardware or software based DAW ...) and be ableto use *any* equipment with little effort and a bunch of documentations. That's also the work of the assistant from the studio to help him dowhat he wants with whatever equipment is available at the facility.Anyone that cannot get used to a new equipment in a matter of a fewhours is *not* a sound engineer and needs more training on the technicalprinciples of the equipments.
