I doubt that we will change to add another audio backend.
There is enough to do as is on developing SuperCollider, and only a
few linux-developers on it.

As far as I know, most Ubuntu users of SuperCollider, are using the
Ubuntu Studio variant, which seems to have no problems with setting up
JACK.
