Just because both guitar and your 1010 have quarter inch inputs doesn't mean they are the same. A guitar pickup has a Hi-Z output, and the 1010 is expecting a line-level input. They are not the same thing. (having a battery doesn't mean a thing in regards to preamps, it means it has an active rather than a passive pickup) A mixer won't do much good either unless it comes with a Hi-Z input, which is not common. Most people set it up going from HI-Z into a DI box, and from there into a preamp to get a line level signal. (There are some preamps with Hi-Z inputs so that you can skip the DI box, but they are not very common.) -Reuben On Nov 22, 2007 8:22 AM, lanas <lanas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Le Mercredi, 21 Nov 2007 20:54:21 -0500, > Joe Hartley <jh@xxxxxxxxxxxx> a écrit : > > > You need some form of preamp between the guitar and the 1010.
