There seems to be some confusion. The old noteedit came with kde, is still the 
only one which I can get the data into. Others, including canorus which was 
supposed to be the continuation of noteedit, just do not work.

Once I have it in noteedit, I can get the data into other programs if I wish.

Nted is this new one is gtk, not kde or qt. Wish most success and hope to see 
good things here. I think mscore is the best of the new score programs but as 
I said, I cannot get data directly into it and no chord names/symbol 
functionality yet (for lead sheets, guitar, etc.).
