I have this same problem. I call it "stuttering plugins". I call it "stuttering plugins". I was told that it is caused by having /usr/local/lib/ladspa set up as a symlink to /usr/lib/ladpsa, but I don't have anything in /usr/local/lib/ladspa at all, and it's not a symlink, so that can't be it. I should point out that the "listplugins" utility only shows ONE version of each plugin. It does not stutter. Neither does jack-rack seem to stutter. I get one listing for each plugin in jack-rack. However, Ardour2 shows stuttering LADSPA plugins. I guess Audacity does too. However, Ardour2 shows stuttering LADSPA plugins. I guess Audacity does too. I'd love to know how to fix it, but for now it is just mildly annoying.
