This, like many threads, has really degenerated into flames and such. As I say, opensource is about freedom. I have Ardour. If I am not liking using this, I have Rosegarden which already does MIDI, or any number of others. Hay, under windows, there are really just Cakewalk and Steinberg (and maybe Tracktion). Windows Protools just doesn't cut it.
