At least it didn't set your house on fire! (Google search for "Dell
laptop house fire" or something like that ... )

Well from what I read, it could have... the random shutdowns were
caused by a short circuit (aka cheap components).

Anyway I expect this stuff from PC vendors who compete on price, not
from Apple...
