All my problems were solved by downgrading RME HDSP 9632 firmware from
1.52 to 1.51.

I found the 1.51 zip on RME website archives here:
http://www.rme-audio.de/download/treiber_archiv.htm

And, wow: jack even accept to work with a frames/period of 64 now :-)
