I think the logo looks great. One concern is that once the logo is made
smaller to better fit the page, the waveform in the background starts
looking like something is "muddy" rather than a waveform. I almost prefer
the version 1 over the other. But even 3 is nice sans waveform (or perhaps
making waveform more zoomed in so that one can clearly trace a line might
also help the matter, although that may make it harder to make logo smaller
without losing fidelity of that line, especially if it is a thin one).

I was going to say the same thing. Make it clean and it'll be able to move to different "venues". In addition to the problems with size, if the need arises for a need to go B&W and/or 2D, it'll be much more readable (like the first sample)
