-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hello! I've already posted this topic to the official Gentoo forums, but nobody was able to help me. I've successfully run my Maya 44 USB together with the snd-usb-audio module for more than a year. But after the last update of ALSA some strange things are going on. "Alsaconf" doesn't find the USB soundcard although snd-usb-audio is loaded. mpg123 gives the following error: === Could not load default driver and no driver specified in config file. Exiting. jackd prints the following errors: Code: JACK compiled with System V SHM support. loading driver .. apparent rate = 48000 creating alsa driver ... hw:0|hw:0|1024|2|48000|0|0|hwmon|hwmeter|-|32bit control device hw:0 ALSA: Cannot open PCM device alsa_pcm for playback. Falling back to capture-only mode cannot load driver module alsa Mplayer is able to play media through SDL (I've no idea what this means), but complains about missing ALSA: [AO OSS] audio_setup: Kann Audiogerät /dev/dsp nicht öffnen: No such file or directory alsa-init: using device default alsa-init: playback open error: No such file or directory [AO ESD] esd_open_sound fehlgeschlagen: Connection refused [JACK] cannot open server [AO SDL] Samplerate: 44100Hz Kanäle: Stereo Format s16le AO: [sdl] 44100Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample) Video: kein Video Starte Wiedergabe... That means that ALSA is obviously not usable.
