It's probably possible but why would you want to?  JACK is easier.

mainly desireable for efficeiency. playing a dvd in m player, running ices, and running jackd all at the same time uses nearly 80% of my poor little PIII 750Mhz processor. not to mention the extera 186ms of delay requred in jackd to avoid xruns.
