In that case it makes sense that all the most useful audio apps should have daemon mode.

But is there really much difference between that and minimising the GUI when not in use? Or are you doing most of your work with hardware controllers via terminal mode?

It doesn't seem like a priority task. Wouldn't lash-ifying all the best apps be more useful at this stage?
