You may want to email Ingo and cc' the linux kernel mailing list,
somebody else familiar with the code may be able to help.

Sure. It looks like the problem is happening in the usb2 interface code,
so if you are not using usb the rest of the kernel may be fine and
usable. 

Just yesterday I built a newer kernel for Planet CCRMA based on 2.6.15
and 2.6.15-rt18 that seems to be working fine so far. Hopefully I'll
announce it seen on the Planet CCRMA list (early next week if the
machines I'm running it on survive).
