I have the same interface and I also hear the "hiss" though for me it's more of a "capacitor hum". I've only ever used it with linux so I can't say if it goes away on any other OS. The sound does become quite after a while (perhaps when the components warm). IIRC I've heard of the same experience from other UA-25 owners, sorry I can't be of more help. It's a pretty easy unit to take apart, if you're very curious you might be able to track down exactly what part is humming and contact the edirol for information. -ry
