Hmm, yeah, should work.

Did you turn the midi ports active?. If it's in USB mode, it might not
have the midi ports active.

You might test turning the midi ports active on your bcf 2000. 

I got it working now. I guess it must have been all the smoke in here
that made me unable to see things clearly.
