I'm trying to get my midi keyboard working through the gameport of my emu10k1 based card (Creative SoundBlaster Live). I'm using linux-2.6.10 and alsa-lib-1.0.4. I'm testing with a known to work on usb, a behringer bcf2000 midi controller. Might it be that Creative requires a non-standard cable?. This is what I get: #amidi -l Device Name hw:0,0 EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART) hw:0,1 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices) hw:0,2 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices) #amidi -d -p hw:0,0 0 bytes read #lsmod snd_emu10k1_synth 6784 0 snd_emux_synth 36032 1 snd_emu10k1_synth snd_seq_virmidi 5888 1 snd_emux_synth snd_seq_midi_emul 7072 1 snd_emux_synth snd_seq_midi 6496 0 snd_mpu401_uart 6112 0 audio 46112 0 snd_usb_audio 62880 0 snd_usb_lib 11168 1 snd_usb_audio emu10k1_gp 2592 0 gameport 3296 1 emu10k1_gp snd_emu10k1 93796 1 snd_emu10k1_synth snd_rawmidi 20352 5 snd_seq_virmidi,snd_seq_midi,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_usb_lib,snd_emu10k1 snd_ac97_codec 74336 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_util_mem 3200 2 snd_emux_synth,snd_emu10k1 snd_hwdep 7236 2 snd_emux_synth,snd_emu10k1 Anyone knows what else to test?. -- Esben Stien is b0ef@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.esben-stien.name irc://irc.esben-stien.name/%23contact [sip|iax]:b0ef@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
