No, I did not try moving to another slot. I don't believe I have any 
conflicts. It's actually using the same interrupt (5) as it does under 
windoze.

Here are the versions of RPMs installed by default on Fedora Core 2 Test 3:

alsa-lib-1.0.3a-1
alsa-utils-1.0.3-1
alsa-lib-devel-1.0.3a-1
