My Thinkpad A31 has a "Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev 80)" > controller and my HDSP works great. I also was able to get it > by itself on IRQ9, but not all BIOSs let you do that. Also, ACPI > is definitely disabled. the problem has been reported on four different chipsets: ENE C1410 (ico / mandrake) o2micro6933 (myself / gentoo) Texas Instruments PCI1250 (timothy ... i hope you don't mind that i call you timothy ... just to make it easier to follow this discussion / red hat, planet ccrma) ricoh ??? (derek / gentoo) - derek: what problems exactly did you have? i'm not exactly sure, if your problem was similar to the one, ico, timothy and myself are experiencing ... - ene, o2micro and ricoh are cardbus bridges, rme doesn't suggest for using with an hdsp ... but they haven't had any complains about ti's cardbus bridges... it's not a problem of the hardware revision of the hdsp, since i had the same problems with thomas charbonnel's device, mine worked fine on his machine ... i hope we can track this problem down, since i'd really prefer to save the money i wanted to spend for a new laptop for my summer trip to nyc...
