Resetting USB MIDI cables

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hey hey,
I have an older USB to MIDI adapter cable, a UA0037 (probably LogiLink, sold as Conrad Electronic). The manual does not suggest any SysEx capabilitiies to reset/clear it. Sometimes it gets problems with SysEx transfer to/from the connected MIDI device and will no longer pass SysEx data.

The cable/adapter will not directly react to a device inquiry "F0 7E 7F 06 01 F7"
nor does a simple dump solve it:
amidi -p XXX --dump
Is there perhaps a trick to flush or reset such adapters? I can pull the cable from the USB port and plug it in again, yet it's at the back of the computer underneath the desk which is cumbersome and due to many USB devices being connected through HUBs there is no other place to plug it in.

Best wishes and thanks for any hints,

Jeanette
