I have to admit that this was a significant motivation for me to stick to UNIX-related jobs or embedded system programming (when Linux was not even existent yet) rather than hop on the Windows bandwagon. It really does, at a technical level. If you can utilize and possibly even sabotage a bit of FOSS, why not?
