FWIW, I've seen to startup speed difference on my systems between Debian (init) and Debian (systemd). But I can't guarantee that. When Debian first switched to systemd, I had problems with it trying to mount my CIFS shares before it had set up the network connection. And during updates, it still announces that start/stop is no longer supported for a couple of running services. How long ago did Debian Testing switch to systemd? I think I'll put Devuan on one of my desktop partitions and see how it goes. I tease him that he's going to come back 800-1000 years ago. I'll have to bombard him with brand new music from LAC and the list when he gets back.
