Hi,

the best compromise is to buy a matched pair of small diameter
condenser microphones. They are allrounder, not always the best choice,
especially not in the lower price segment, but again, they are the best
compromise for recording

- singing (sort of)

as well as recording

- nylon string classical guitar
- wind chimes

without the need to have a collection of all kinds of microphones for
different purpose. The polar pattern cardioid (kidney) is a good
compromise.

Don't buy an AKG 1000, if sound comes a little bit from the side, the
recoding sounds disgusting, it's only ok, if the sound comes from the
front only, IOW it's a more or less useless microphone.
