One critical word is omitted from the above quoting:

"upgrading"  ... "upgrading firefox" to be precise.  And there's also
the key word "after" as in "after upgrading firefox"

Which means there was a "before".  Would it be too far-fetched to
conceive that this "before" state had no complaints whatsoever
regarding basic functionality of the audio, and that, after uploading so
many soundcloud pieces, running Bitwig and Mixbus32C, listening to so
many tutorials on youtube throughout the years of running LM 17 all
going throught eh M-Audio 1010LT card by means of jackd and Pulse
Audio Jack Sink ?   Which are all BTW still running and pretty much
alive.

And them suddenly, as in "after", the audio does not work anymore.  And
firefox people are saying your pulseaudio is not running.   Your jackd
is not right.   Maybe I should not live.  That would get rid of the
problem.  :)
