a2j is that it creates a bridge so that ALSA devices show up as jack MIDI
devices, which is what is displayed in the MIDI tab of qjackctl (i.e. jack
native MIDI device connections show in the MIDI tab, so for example MIDI
ports exposed by Ardour should show up there).
