zita_a2j and zita_j2a are higher quality equivalents, included internal to
the current jack1 code, available as external clients for jack2.
I don't have jack1 here to check which command line options provide the
equivalent to zita_a2j and j2a, check the man page, look for previous
postings from Paul Davis describing.
The jackaudio.org FAQ entry on the topic seems out of date, I'll bring up
with current jack maintainers.

This is the best reference for the zita modules. Internal jack1 code works
the same, just has command line argument to activate.
