Or the PreSonus AudioBox1818VSL which has 8 balanced outs as well as ADAT i/o and uses USB 2.0. Something like this would be very flexible. Would I be likely to run into problems on Linux with this?

Looking at their products, the E-mu 1820m might be the cheapest option as it has 8 balanced outs built in. Does anyone have experience on Linux with this?
