I guess the shortcuts first mentioned by Len are the best way to get access to command line and perhaps BRLTTY as mentioned by F. Silvain is the way to get output from command line. IIRC Julien or somebody else from this list once had issues installing a distro using Braille, because the installer didn't provide BRLTTY.
