2 AMD MP 1900+ CPU problem?

Hallo, everybody

Wondering if anybody knows about this, and any help are appreciated:
We have some AMD computers in a cluster, they all have 2 AMD Athlon MP 1900+ cpus, and running RedHat-EL-AS-3.

The strange thing is, when I log in type "top" command, this is showen (only show the top part), notice the "user" collume, it equlas to both cpus' usage, it should be half of them. On one of them(master node), I installed recompiled kernel, which seems all fine(but I didn't change the SMP things in config). So I am recompiling the kernel for the nodes, see if it's the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
